Why Digital Microcredentials?
HC-X, Havergal’s innovation hub, creates future-ready learning experiences for our students and faculty.
Digital microcredentials are individual learning modules, delivered through a blended approach, facilitated by HC-X on innovative topics that are sure to capture the imagination of our students. Through our research on the future of education and the future of work, the creation of the digital microcredentials program, available to students in Grades 9 to 12, began during the 2022-23 academic year.
Completion of the microcredentials is recognized with a digital credential – similar to a certificate of completion – hosted in partnership with a microcredential provider, and they are verifiable and mobile, meaning they can travel with students after their time at Havergal. Digital microcredentials are dynamic learning experiences that benefit our students in many ways.
Through our digital microcredentials program, students can:
Learn from experts: Havergal is partnering with Harvard Student Agencies and Inspirit AI, who bring MIT and Stanford Professors, as well as Old Girls/Alums who are working and leading in these spaces.
Gain experience: Students will learn about and try new things with little risk and just a little bit of their time, with the advantage of building their networks while learning.
Show their interests, passions and experiences: Our microcredentials are shareable on social media channels, like LinkedIn, and are verifiable on Blockchain.
Deepen and extend learning beyond classes, clubs and current interests.
