Overview

HC-X has partnered with Inspirit AI, graduate students at Stanford and MIT, to offer a digital credential in Artificial Intelligence.

As the landscape of technologies affecting the future of work and learning continues to evolve, artificial intelligence plays a pivotal role, shaping our daily lives through voice-activated devices, face recognition systems, and autonomous systems and vehicles.

Through the program, they will explore various applications of machine learning models, emphasizing the potential for using AI for social good. Participants will delve into programming AI using Python, apply algorithms to real-world datasets, and engage in discussions on AI ethics and applications. The 20-hour synchronous course, conducted through Zoom at Havergal College, enables students to develop practical skills that culminate in an instructor-led group project applying AI to disciplines such as music, healthcare, astrophysics, finance, and more.

Availability: All students in Grades 9-12, no experience required!
Program Fee: $950

No prior coding experience is required, as the course includes instruction on essential coding skills. Please ask about Financial assistance, if applicable.

Program Curriculum & Outcomes

Course Structure:

Learn about machine learning algorithms and techniques in a uniquely interactive, engaging format, before you apply that knowledge in live coding labs.

Develop valuable skills in Python, machine learning, and artificial intelligence in our hands-on coding labs, using cutting-edge research to solve real-world problems like breast cancer diagnosis, building self-driving cars, and more.

In our AI for Social Good project, students will be able to apply their newly acquired talents in a collaborative, challenging environment, applying AI to a domain they’re passionate about (e.g., music, healthcare, astrophysics, finance, etc.). Students can use these projects in their résumés and college applications.
